We are proud to invite you to the next DOME Open Users Platform Event, October 29th in the Van de Hulst auditorium at ASTRON. DOME is the research project in which ASTRON and IBM have joined forces to create new technology. Technology which is needed for handling the huge amounts of data that will be generated by the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), the largest radio telescope ever.

Interactive sessions
At the event, you will get an update on novel technologies and new computing approaches that are being developed within DOME. Mind you, these technological advances are sure to impact an area much greater than radio astronomy alone. For more information on the DOME research streams, please click here.

This is where you come in. We challenge you to analyse where the opportunities lie that may enhance your business and could benefit our economy as a whole. We’re expecting some lively discussions during various interactive sessions on October 29th.

Challenge us
Small and medium-sized enterprises, larger companies and knowledge institutes are cordially invited to put forward specific issues which might come to a solution using DOME technologies. In other words: what IT-related constraints are now holding you back in developing products and services, which you think the DOME team could help you overcome?
During the interactive sessions, the DOME team will review the issues you propose. If there is a viable match with one or more of the DOME research streams, the aim would be to proceed with R&D on a collaborative basis.

12:00 13:00 Arrival and Lunch
13:00 14:00 Highlights of DOME R&D, plenary session (introduction and scientific update)
